SARAH PATRICK

Hi all! Sarah here! I am a passionate and committed music student, with the talent and drive to succeed. Growing up amongst the vibrant and diverse music scene in Dayton, was an environment full of inspiration and stimulation for me to feed off.

In taking a Public Relations course at Sinclair Community College, myself and two other girls have been assigned to create an event using the lessons from the course. We are working on a benefit concert to raise money to help Dayton Children’s Music Therapy Program.

One thing the three of us girls could agree on is our love for music. Added to that, Dayton Children's has a wonderful music therapy program that could use our help. What else better than to create a benefit concert!

The Music Therapy Program at Dayton Children’s Hospital is a donor funded program that depends on our community to continue their work on helping children. Our hope is to collect a donation from as many of our friends and family that we can and present the hospital with our donation after the benefit. The goal is to raise $2000 by the end of April.​ In addition, I hope to raise at least $500 at the benefit concert.

Many in the Dayton Community have had to experience a child in their family or know of someone with a child that needed to be treated at Dayton Children’s Hospital. For me, Dayton Children’s has impacted my family in the most positive way. Not only have my children, and other kids in my family had great experiences there, but if it weren’t for the wonderful doctors and staff, their treatments and technology, my little sister Kari could have had a different fate… when she was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma (bone cancer) not just once, but twice as a child. In honor of all the kids Dayton Children’s has treated, we would like to start a fundraiser to help raise money for their Music Therapy Program for the benefit to kids like Kari.
